    After the news broke that Brian VanGorder was leaving his post as defensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons, the speculation began that Falcons head coach Mike Smith would look to his past, and tap former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio -- on whose staff Smith served -- to fill the vacancy.

    ESPN NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas admits that this connecting of the dots is natural, and believes that Del Rio might be a fine choice for Atlanta

    Well, let's see.

    Other than the fact that he hasn't really done shit as an NFL coach, JDR's defense in JAX finished (on average) 14th out of 32 defensively since 2003, with a pretty damn good running game on offense.

    I mean, denying he's an upgrade over Van Cuckold is silly, but he's not that fucking great.
