I think the evaluation of the coaching staff starts now. When you hire rookie head coaches from the coordinator ranks you should give them 5 years evaluating them in years 4-5. Otherwise you are the Cleveland Browns. The first 3 years they should show growth. Rivera has done that. He gets to pick his coordinator. Keep winning or they all hit the pavement.

Offensively this team ranks near the bottom but it's not lack of talent, it's lack of imagination. The game plan going into to this game was all about Cam and he's not that guy you can just put it all on his legs & especially not his arm. He's good in spots but that's it. They tried the screen too late, it should have been the first play call. Passing to our backs, getting them in space is how this offense becomes dangerous at everything else. Shula did run this same shit down in Tampa with Shaun King.

If Gettleman has any balls and is truly here to see we win now, he needs to make the change at OC. Fucking defense doesn't deserves to play opposite to this shit they put on the field yesterday. Getting pushed around at the line didn't fucking help either.

Rivera's defense of Shula's playcalling in last night's presser:

    "Mike's done some good things."

That kind of thing is why I'm extremely uncomfortable with Rivera getting an extension. I think 2013 was lightning in a bottle, and I do not believe that he is one of the best 32 options to be a head coach in the NFL.

I feel like Rivera got the team to play above their talent level. Can't complain any about his drafts either… He's earned COY consideration. I would take Rivera over easily 20 other coaches in the league right now… I feel like he would be a candidate to any team looking for a new HC, and he could prob have about any DC job he wanted if he's on the market.

He's coached better each season thus far and I wouldn't expect any drop off next year… I would like to see him evaluate the OC position and make a move… Or at least Gettlmen make a move. Problem is Cam can only run this type of offense and this is as good as he's ever going to be in it.

And the coaches think there is no need to work with Cam, he's fine as he is. Also say he stays after practice every day. I think if coaches said he needed to work on mechanics etc, he would. It gets put on Cam like he doesn't care, and maybe he doesn't, but when coaches get quoted saying Cam brings so much more to the game, and they say there's no need to change his mechanics, then changes are unlikely to happen unless Cam DOES care and seeks his own off season help. Can they do that?

Looks like Rivera will be another Fox, which is better than I expected.
