    Not that kind :nono:

There was an article in the Winston-Salem Journal about Coka Cola imported from mexico that is made with real cane sugar instead of corn syrup. It's found in some Mexican stores and is in green tinted glass bottles. Anyone seen it? I have a freind who did some extended travel in asia and said the Cokes he had there were extremely good. I wonder if North America is the only place where they use corn syrup.

I think most soft drinks use corn syrup now - cheaper.

I was watching Food TV one day and they were doing a story on Cheerwine - Cheerwine switched to corn syrup awhile back - but if you buy a cheerwine in a glass bottle it still has the original cane sugar recipe.

Maybe coke does the same thing - the little 6 1/2 oz green bottles still uses cane sugar. Yum Yum Hot Dogs and Ice Cream in Greensboro still sells the little coke bottles.

I was wrong about the green bottles. You have to make sure it is Mexican coke.

Coke bottles here in the US used to have the year and city on the bottom - not sure when they stopped that but those bottles are worth money to collectors.

I was thinking you were onto something about the green coke bottles - my grand dad still wants those little coke bottles - swears they taste better and I kind of agree with him although it's probably just a nostalgia thing - or it tasting better from a glass vs. plastic bottle.

I wondered about that some time ago. Couldn't figure out why I thought Cheerwine suddenly sucked.

That Trib article is about my old barrio. :xyzthumbs

I have 2 bottles of Mexican Coke at home. I had three. I'm surprised the other 2 have lasted this long.

This was a great source of entertainment (often profitable). Several of us would bet on who could get the coke "furtherest away" (from home) and bet on it.
