There a great article in this week's 'Kerrang!' magazine - an interview with Metallica, including new bassist Robert Trujillo, and a preview of their new album 'St Anger'. Quote:

"The volume is intoxicating, the songs even more so. The eighth Metallica studio album has been trailed as a return to the band's roots, but this doesn't really cover it. Metallica haven't gone backwards with 'St Anger' but they have gone elsewhere, somewhere they haven't really gone before. Much of the speed is back - speed that recalls the days of 'Battery' and 'Dyer's Eve' - but the format is markedly different. This isn't controlled aggression, much of it is uncontrolled violence. It's ironic that at a time when the band are so at peace with one another they should make an album that sounds like they're at war."

    Metallica are back!

Jason Newstead may not have been a creative force in Metallica but he was a kick ass performer. I will miss him. Wonder what he is up to these days, if he has any side projects going.

He has joined Canadian band Voivod on a permanent basis, but has also temporarily joined Ozzy Osbourne's band, which means he will play for both on the Ozzfest tour!

I'm looking forward to old skool Metallica. And they have a kick ass bass player. Should be a good match.

Yep. But they have a new sound from what I downloaded. Kinda punkish I guess. Still suck.
