Ive pondered over items such as these and have decided to put off my purchase until they come down a bit in price.

Probably when they release the next HALO chapter is when I'll actually pick one up. I just cant justify dumping $500-$600 between all the accessories and games along with the console itself, for something I would probably not play very much initially due to the lack of titles.

I didnt buy my Xbox until HALO2 was released, and it was <$200 by that time and the game selection was massive.

If I could sell my current Xbox and accessories for $200-$250, I'd consider it.

    Anyone interested? :imagestor

The one downside to waiting is that the bare-bones X-box package is likely to come down in price more than the larger bundle, and that's the one you're going to want anyway. Honestly the current $400 bundle is well worth the price considering everything you're getting, and I hope to purchase one by Christmas if I have the money and can actually find one for sale.

I actually wouldn't be shocked to see the bare bones package disappear once price comes down, or only be $250 to the HD package's $300.

dvd capacity is VERY important when people had hd televisions. standard dvd is fine for ntsc, but 720p at 24fps is more than twice as much data. and if you go with a larger format like 1080i (or even 1080p) that's even more.

edit: guess i should have read the whole thread before responding...
