Well I dug up this old Media Play gift card I had in a drawer decided to get a new XBOX game with it so I went over the Gamespot and got the highest rated game that I did not already have and was not Nascar. Mercenaries was it and after viewing the trailer I figured it was worth the zero expenditure.

Man, Halo2 has now finally been put back in the case. This game is just fun as hell. Great, I mean steller, graphics and sound on par with Halo2 and Ghost Recon 2.

It is a good bridge between the online madness of Halo and the technical shooter that is Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon series in that you basically walk around taking on challenges and missions, finding people, destroying stuff. The map is basically North Korea, so you can actually get in a tank/jeep whatever and drive for 30 minutes at full speed and still not see everything. If you like the Grand Theft Auto series, this has the vehicle hijacking stuff that makes these so fun. In fact jumping off a building and hijacking a Chinease Mi-28 helicopter is much more fun than taking a Mustang in Miami!

If you are a fan of any of the games above, you should get this one. Will not disappoint. I think it is made for Ps/2 and XBOX only at least that is all I saw.

I want this game soooo bad, but GTA is already causing problems in the relationship. I'm afraid this game along with March Madness around the corner could ruin another one for me.

I grabbed RE4 instead of this one.

I made myself decide instead of getting both.

Im happy with my decision, but after reading this, I may have to go back and get the other as well.

Whats the typical mission? Kidnapping people? Bounty Hunter type stuff?

Pretty broad scope. I have only taken 4 contracts so far

    1) Arrest or kill one of the bad guy North Koreans (There is a 52-card deck ala Iraq in place here. So in the end you have to either kill or subdue the 52 bad guys inclusing the Ace of Spades mad man ruler of North Korea)

    2) Help the South Koreans repel an invasion force

    3) Fly a chopper in and pick up a crate and bring it back to the Russian Mafia

    4) Go to an enemy airport undercover, find and rescue a CIA agent

Got to admit the chopper mission was cool. You have a grapeling hook that you can lower and pick up crates or cars. I discovered during this mission that if you grab a car you could then actually flail the car on the chain around like a mace. It was so cool taking out enemy jeeps and even another helicopter by whacking them with a Datsun B-210

I am just hooked. I have finished the Clubs missions and moving on. Each mission gets harder, but more importantly adds new elements to make it interesting.

Is this the commercial where they say, "Blow the crap out of it. Blow the crap out of it some more."? I love that
