Fired in Philly by Reid. Maybe here?
Might've been too worried about the next step, but is a good coach. Has experience with Rivera. If Meeks is the DBs coach, hes done LBs also. Pressure schemes and falling stock might make less sense as DC.

Why would he be good here? He's been on the hot seat for some time, and considered a poor replacement for JJ for some time now.

Those were some big shoes to fill.

Not saying we should hire him in particular but with RR stating he'd be taking an active role in running the defense any reasonably competent guy would probably be fine.

fair enough, but I don't want reasonably competent. No more of that shit.

IMO, McDermott is not an upgrade over Meeks.

I said as position coach, where he has been excellent.

NFLN Lombardi said he's negotiating a contract right now with Denver but Carolina is in play... his guess is Denver. Didn't say position coach, so I assume as DC

Eagles Defense TM - Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles fired defensive coordinator Sean McDermott.

They're apparently not watching Ravens-Steelers. McDermott did a fine job this season, overseeing a defense that ranked 12th in yards allowed, third in interceptions, and in the top ten in sacks. However, the Eagles feared losing DBs coach Dick Jauron to the Browns, and will almost certainly promote him to replace McDermott. Likely to land on his feet, McDermott now becomes a prime candidate to coordinate Pat Shurmur's defense in Cleveland.

    Jan. 16, 2011

Adam Schefter reported on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown that former Seahawks and Falcons coach Jim Mora is a prime candidate for the Eagles' defensive coordinator job.

It now looks like the Sean McDermott firing was unrelated to the Browns' interest in Dick Jauron. Per Schefter, the Eagles' brass simply felt that McDermott was not up to the task of replacing legendary defensive boss Jim Johnson. Mora ran the 49ers' defense from 1999-2003 before head coaching gigs at Atlanta and Seattle.

We're battling Foxy in Denver for a DC who had the worst red zone defense in the entire league?

    Beautiful.

he fits, he'd be able to install a D that Rivera hasn't seen himself in a while. He had a bad year, hes not a bad coach.

So our DC options are a ginger and a guido
