if i'm not mistaken, he also played a pretty big role on the Giants special teams last year. could this mean, he may also be our new "gunner"? I still think we will look at Wesley as our nickel when he recovers. I do however think this was a good move in case he faulters.

Why did we wait? He was UFA earlier.

iNTEReSTING - i SAW HE WAS RELEASED YESTERDAY, THOUGHT OF FOX AND WONDERED.
    OOPS!

I wonder why we didn't sign him early in FA. He WAS available.

    I think we're scrambling.

On if the Panthers considered signing McDaniel during the offseason: He played with the Giants last year, and then at the end of the season for whatever reason, they released him. We talked about (signing) him in this offseason. At that time, cap wise, we weren’t in a position to do that and we weren’t as familiar with our own players at that point. It just seemed more logical at this point, so we made the decision.

    >> a little surprised that Israel didn't make the cut over Taylor or Jenkins

my thought too. guess you could have thrown all three in a hat, pulled one out and still had 2 that sucked

Nah, he's better than Wesley, and more experienced.
Fox also knows how to cover up his weaknesses better.

It's somewhat of a "now" move, not a youth movement move, but it's also a cheap move. We don't have time to develpo anyone who hasn't already stepped up, because chances are most of these guys won't be here next year.

Yeah, we're scrambling like Fasani at sight of the first opponent jersey.

    Sorry, had to. :D

Yep. But all DBs get picked on. As long as we're not fucking up the long ball I can grit my teeth.

Nah, it's all good :D I gotta keep faith alive and all that mess. There are wounded egos to mourn.

Why did the Giants cut him? Because they drafted that Allen kid out of Syracuse, the one that runs the 4.3.
He did good as a rookie and they didn't need a veteran 4th so they dropped him.

    Cleveland? Don't know there.

Anybody recall who was gunning along with Coop after Bates went down? I need to check the tape.

    That I don't know.
When we were lining up for kickoff, it was Cooper and Bates inside, with Minor and Richardson outside of them. Therefore I'd have to guess it's one of those two.
Cooper and Bates were usually right within step of each other coming downfield. Good shit.

  10. If McDaniel is half the gun Bates is, I'll be satisfied. Mags, good point on how they both usually arrived at the same time.

Is Eric Davis still out there?
