Just take all my vague and contradictory directions and turn them into a football dynasty the sport has never seen before.

People get angry when you overpromise and underperform. That's how you get half empty stadiums while your team is still in playoff contention.

If it doesn't count towards the cap, I don't really give a damn. Tepper can light as much of his money on fire as he wishes.

That is definitely true, but Ron knew the NFL and he knew NFL people. When Carolina was successful it was because the wet napkin provided stability while quality coaches did the grunt work. Once those coaches were pilfered by other teams, the wet napkin stopped being effective. The reason college coaches almost always fail in the NFL isn't because they can't scheme well, it's because they don't yet grasp the differences between the NCAA and the NFL, while also lacking the connections and support staff necessary to take care of the positional coaching and other details that lead to success on Sundays. Rhule might be a brilliant football mind and a great leader of men, who knows, but his success or lack thereof will be determined by the people he chooses to work under him and how well they acclimate to the NFL.

Yeah, I’m impressed. You don’t want football games on the podium, but that’s some energy that’s been lacking for a decade. And it’s not hollow, because as we talked about, he’s worked on all three phases of the ball. Get a few solid NFL guys on that staff, and I’m happy.
