    They waited too long to put out the second film. What was cool and cutting edge in the first film was old and tired by the time reloaded came out.

    They really did not know how to continue the story from the first movie.

    many people claim the original matrix was a knock off of Dark City. Those people get even more proof by how bad the 2nd and 3rd dropped off.

    I thought the original to the 2nd was OK, but the 3rd one just didn't have enough Matrix stuff, I guess.
