I can understand the reasoning behind it -- it was another distinguisher between human and machine. The scene, IMO, was about people being human, in a human environment, rather than trying to constantly beat machines at their game on their turf.

But all that could've been done in a couple of 4 or 5 second clips. I don't know how long that scene went on, but it seemed like about 5 to 10 minutes. A 2 hour plus movie doesn't need "filler" like that. Purely commercial. Nothing like a little T & A to keep the teens involved in a movie that makes you think between fight sequences.

That scene was for emphasis on our primal instincts. The "tribal" drumming and the love scene was purely human. It was a little drawn out but then again I coulda gone home for a quickie after that.

Yeah, I think the "dance" scene served two purposes: 1) to appeal to the techno-goth-raver-genXers, and 2) to show humans "living in freedom."

You'll notice the crowd is extremely diverse and integrated, with no distictions whatsoever in regard to race. They dance and go wild, indulging in the pleasures of life... the scene reminded me of The Ten Commandments when the children of Israel got bored and threw a party while Moses was away. But unlike the Ten Commandments, this movie showed the partying as a healthy and natural part of being a free human being.

That was one of the most intelligently thought-out movies I've seen in awhile. Outstanding. People complain about "too much CGI / not enough plot", but I don't get it. If anyone paid attention, they would have seen how deep this story truly is.

I only had an issue with the CGI when Neo took on the Smiths'. Too Harry Potterish (quittage matches).

I didn't like this sequel at all

    I soooo agree with this.

I treated my dad, brother, and nephew to this movie last Saturday night, and we all left the theater very disappointed. I found myself checking my watch constantly during the movie, hoping it would end soon because I was so bored. Even the sex scene made me yawn. I think I'll wait for part 3 to come out on video or see it at the dollar theater.
