Proposed Sites for Marlins New Ballpark-Orange Bowl vs. Miami Arena

Its looking more likely that the Marlins new ballpark will be built somewhere near the Orange Bowl, which the City of Miami/Dade County owns . . . Residents in Little Havana are heavily campaigning to get the ballpark built there . . Hmmmmmmmm, could this area become a Latin version of Wrigleyville in Chicago :) ? Only problem though is with the stadium having a retractable roof, I doubt folks in houses/condos around the stadium would be able to get a good peak inside of the stadium like the folks in Wrigley can . .

If Marlins Get New Ballpark, they will become the MIAMI MARLINS

oh god no that is the absolutely worst area of the city. Hell the Yankees got their stuff stolen one year from Miami stadium. Near the orange bowl more toward se 8th st would be cool though.

More info on how the Marlins will try to finance a new ballpark for the Fish in SoFla . . . A good question that was raised in this article; How can Jeff Loria, an art dealer, can afford to be a MLB Owner  ? ? He is probably the 'poorest' of all of the owners in baseball (i.e. George Shinn of MLB :D :D !!!!!). But at least he is making an effort to keep the team competitive despite losing $20 million this year and having a bad lease at Pro Player Stadium courtesy of Wayne Huzeinga (who runs the stadium and use to own the Marlins but now owns the NFL Dolphins)
