No, not regardless of who "wins". There is no real consequence if there is nothing beyond this life. Where is heaven in space? Have we found it yet? Why are the Roman gods considered Mythology while current religions are taken seriously to the point that people are willing to die for them? Those are the consequences of being "wrong". You end up with a terrorist on your airplane, or you end up with a 500lb bomb in your lap in a hole in the sand.

Sure there is. If atheists are right, then the deists have wasted time and energy (and in many cases, credibility and probably opportunity) investing in a God that isn't there, depending on a future that doesn't exist as a source of hope, and depriving themselves of gratification out of loyalty and accountability to a 'higher power' that has no power. I'd call those consequences.

    Different dimension.

    A. You don't think ancient Romans were willing to die for their gods?

    B. Not even Romans believe in Zeus, Athena, Venus, and the like. Why should anyone else?

No, those are consequences of believing in an ideology to the point of ultimate submission.

We certainly have an incredible amount of evidence pointing to that, and none to the contrary.

    it's all about faith

Evolution is a lot harder to believe than creation. That our intricate bodies with what we know about it now, could have evolved from slime is absurd. It would be like a tornado going through a junk yard and causing the assembly of a working 747 jet...ha. If we evolved from apes, then why are there still monkeys?? And where are the in betweens since we see there are still primates living among us? Even Darwin had stipulations to his evolution theory that technologies not available to him back then have since proven, that he by his own writings would say that evolution is impossible. Science will always try to explain the unknown away but will never have all the answers. If we had the brain to know it all, then we would be God. And there is and always will be only one Creator of all things, one God. No matter what science comes up with, those of unwaivering faith will not be convinced that just because a man says there is no God, that it is so. You can not believe in gravity, but when you step off a 20 story building, you will still go splat, you don't have to believe it for it to be true.

i agree. your acceptance of evolution has no bearing on its validity.
