Every highlight I have seen of this guy, ( I will admit it hasnt been that many) he is running straight through a wide open lane.

First, I agree that if he's the best on the board, he's certainly a good pick. I'd rather do this than take a tackle, or reach for a QB or WR. I'd rather get a relative need than pick a defender that might not be able to start this year.

And true, neither Larry Johnson nor any other player should have to be burdened by the baggage people carry around about some former bust.

But all the same backs who do well in that conference don't always translate to great NFL performances. Dayne got a lot of yards on one or two missed tackles and would run for 60 yards in result. That's part of my worry. LJ has good cutback ability where Dayne lacks it to that level, but both had a great hole every good run. So basically we're drafting Lamar Smith.

Certainly, would be nice to have Green. Or Foster back. Or Duckett, certainly. In the end, though, I think it's not as high on the list and certainly not the best value considering we can run the ball allright now and can't pass for shit.

Well, I personally think that L. Johnson is more explosive and agile than Lamar Smith. But I do agree that we will need WR at some point this offseason. The FA recievers intrigue me much more than the RBs or QBs. ATP, I would rather take my chances with McGahee or Johnson than reach for Ragone or a WR out of the "big 3". That said I think Roy Williams might just be there (if the Texans don't grab him) and will be VERY tempting to the Panthers. I hope he can hold up in this league (past ankle problems and fraility) but WRs picked that high are always risky. I'm still not sure he is a better pick than Andre Johnson although in terms of overall skills nobody tops Williams. The only problem is that he doesn't seems to play like a big reciever and that bothers me ATP. AJohnson is thicker and has a very high shelf himself even if he does lack a little flexiblity and catches in the body to much. Andre could blossom into a star with more time and coaching IMO. We need a lot so there are a multitude of ways we could go.

I've been thinking this all along but didn't want to type it and take the abuse for saying lets get Simms, but after watching Johnson play for a few weeks, this guy is amazing. I don't think he'll fall to 12, but if he does...TAKE HIM!!

Sorry, wrong Johnson. I was thinking Andre Johnson from Miami.

Either Johnson would be cool to me. I like em both.

  10. hey bear

UNC has posted more first rounders than alot of colleges, in the past 20 years, there have been a record 15 or more active NFL players come from UNC. Put that in ya pipe and smoke it, LONG LIVE THE HEELS! ;)
