[IMG] If you want to blame someone, blame the NFL. They are the ones who decided to sell thier license to the highest bidder. EA did the only thing they should have done. Get exclusive rights. If ESPN wanted it that bad they should have outbid EA. I personally haven't had to deal with unfinished games, but I don't play PC games. I am sure they aren't the only company to put out unfinished games.

    Fanboy.

PS - EA approached NFL, not vice versa. They didn't like the competition that ESPN/Sega was providing, especially the price point.

That's just plain wrong. Your response shows just how little you know about the videogame industry. The NFL put it up for sale. They approached EA and ESPN, you know how the rest turned out. I do have a little knowledge on it sense I work with games 24/7. Sounds to me like your the ESPN fanboy.

I'm a "best game for the $" & "competition = good" fanboy. $19.99 was a helluva good price for an annual title. Damn shame it went away.

Just curious, but do you also hate ABC/ESPN, Fox, & CBS?

    OK Parsey Parsemeister.

Do ABC/ESPN, Fox, & CBS also suck balls for limiting competition?

EA sucks balls for putting out half finished products first and foremost. Play BF2 sometime and you'll see what I mean. They're in such a rush to market to avoid a cash crunch. Cant stand that. I don't hate them though. I just think that practice is retarded.

I realize that you want to get into some kind of idealistic debate about free trade, etc. I dont care to. there is a difference between macro and micro monopolies, and this one sucks. It defeats the competition necessary to make the best sports games (pretty much the only ones I care about) for this system. Now EA can just sit back and release roster updates for $50 a year. No competitive pressure.

Before you throw the new pass feature at me, that's been on the drawing board for some time, possibly even years (as a concept), and I've yet to see if its even a real innovation or just marketing gloss.

Most gamers gripe about paying $50 for an annual title. The licensing deal just made that situation worse. I think Sega had it right at $20.

I have no problem with competition - and if sega was smart they would keep making better games without using the names of the players (like they used to do, btw).
