Tell me how a good coach (NOT great coach) gets the type of pay raise he does? I'm putting any bets down they won't beat OU in the next 5 years.

Beats me. By the standards of many schools, he'd be fired right now.

    this is how :

"After guiding Texas to a school record nine (or more) wins in each of his first seven seasons with the Longhorns and posting the best coaching start (69-19) in school history...

Since taking over a program that was coming off a 4-7 season and that had suffered six non-winning seasons in the 12 years prior to his arrival, Brown has guided UT to a school-record seven straight nine (or more) win seasons (tied with Miami [Fla.] for the longest active nine-win streak in the nation). Texas has posted seven straight winning seasons, a first for the Horns in 19 years, and is playing in a bowl game for the seventh year in-a-row for the first time since 1979-85. UT is one of only two programs nationally (joining Oklahoma) that is riding a streak of four consecutive 10 (or more) victory seasons. That mark also is a UT record.

Brown, who has a career coaching mark of 155-93-1 in 21 seasons, extended his personal streaks to 15 straight winning seasons and 13 consecutive bowl appearances with a 10-1 record and Rose Bowl appearance this year. Both of those streaks are the second-longest active marks in the nation."

    no not really.

    He only loses to Oklahoma.

That has to suck big time for the Longhorn fans but I guess it beats having losing seasons.
