Well as far as sports center goes the top performances listed:

Peete and Muhammed... I expected Peppers to be listed but they didn't list any standout Defensive performances from yesterday... don't really understand that, but those were our 2 on the list.

i owe ya some. we had quite an argument earlier where i was bitching about moose. i was wrong. the man played awesome yesterday. a couple of awesome catches. he looked like he was having fun again. a lot more pep in his step. Smiths are helping to take pessure off him as is Walls. Smith looks like he's gonna be a real good WR (kinda to my surprise) and if Moose can continue to play like he did yesterday then i would feel a whole, whole lot about our WR situation, though our depth sucks. lack of serious injuries this year has been a big key in the Panther's early success (and having 2 good running backs).

my game ball goes to Peppers. defence dominated and gave offense lots of opportunities to cash in. even when he wasn't getting sacks, he was making tackles and putting great heat on QB. detroit was obviously very concerned about him. offense has had very little pressure on it in the first 2 games because the defense is playing so well. coaches deserve a huge mention. Henning is doing a great job on play calling. only call that pissed me off yesterday was draw play on 3rd and 10 ... i dunno, maybe it was to set something else up. Del Rio' defense has been dominating. Fox's move to Peete ... well what can I say? Think some folks owe Fox some love.

    Damn straight I do.

Fox saw something we didn’t. No one else did, and a lot of coaches would not have made the move. It was gutsy, and we still have team unity. That was my big fear, that we’d lose unity and split the team. Sorta what Detroit is doing with McMahon and Harrington. That’s what I wanted to avoid.

    Much love to Fox.

Nope, he sure isn't. He's the top. Smith was very blue collar and made one play in the passing game. He had a great game. But he's not impactive the way Moose was - he had less than 3 a carry. He made the plays he had to make.

Tell me... aside from last years opening game, I never really sensed there was much "unity" to worry about. Sure it came as a shock (maybe) to some Panthers but I can't say that Winky ever was noted for unity.

I was not at this game, but based on the first one and Winky's stoic demeaner when he went in for mop up duty, I'd say it really would not matter to the "players" if Winky was bumped down to 3rd. There is ZERO emotion there.

Yeah. I about choked when Berman and Jackson didn't give a game ball to Peppers. I mean, dang--3 sacks, 5 tackles, and a forced fumble, but no love? What's a guy gotta do?

Okay, I'll give up some for Moose this week. The problem is, he's already set his bar higher, and he's still trying to get back to where he's already been. We've come to expect 100+ yards receiving and a TD or two per game from him, because that's the standard he's set in the past.

Here's hoping this is the beginning of his return to glory!

BTW, is it just me, or are the rest of you starting to notice an attitude change in Moose and some building chemistry between him and Peete that was definitely missing when CW was starting?

yea and that's what is giving me a lot of hope now (course winning will help attitudes too). Moose played awesome yesterday cuz IMO his head's back in the game. he likes Peete and Peete is giving him the ball and he is catching it. he thinks he's a stud again, which he apparently can be. again Piper, my bad call. you were so right. and i'm so happy.

let's see, how many players have now made reference to leadership in the huddle -- like it's a novel experience? doesn't that tell ya something about weinke? did someone once say something about leadership wasn't important? and that they weren't impressed by the new buzzword, "enthusiasm"?

scary thought of the day? Peete gets injured. now whoever thought that would be a scary thought and not a pleasant thought two weeks ago, please raise your hand and go to the head of the class. i gotta admit i was looking forward to Peete getting injured when he was first named the starter ... and now I'm afraid it would kill us.

You saw some of that with Weinke last year, before the losses started to rain down. Losing has that stigma, and that monkey is on his back.

Right now, Peete’s the leader. Winning is a great cure all. We did beat two shitty teams, and even Minnesota doesn’t have a D, so we won’t get national respect then either.

Then again, we shouldn’t. We aren’t that talented. We haven’t been a winner in a long while. But if we can get a win in the next two road games, and take care of business with zona, all bets are off. We’d be 4 and 1, Foster would be back, and we’d be confident. That can carry a team a good ways.

Personally I am not ready to throw in the towel at Green Bay either. They are beatable for sure and we played them tough last year before the Steve Smith fumble fest. I'm just gonna take it 1 game at a time and hope for the best. The Panthers will stick around with most of the teams on their schedule IMO, so every win will count bigtime.
