Nos. 2 and 3 haven't done too badly. Quinn Snyder has a 4- year record of 80-47 (.630) at Missouri and Mike Brey has a 163-82 (.665) record in 8 years at Delaware and Notre Dame, although the Irish had a meltdown the in past few weeks.

Gee, guess I could add some Carowhina retreads:
    1. Larry "nomad" Brown
    2. George "I'll never win an NBA title" Karl
    3. Eddie "I wanna coach again" Fogler
    4. Roy "I'll never win an NCAA title, and I won't leave Kansas for Carowhina no matter WHAT I promise" Williams

You want to talk pathetic - I'll think it will be Carolina's coaching search - especially if Baddour is still there.

Yeah - you really got me there. Larry Brown is only considered to be the best teacher of basketball in the pros and has had success everywhere he went. He even took the fucking Clippers to the playoffs. You're right - he's a loser. George Karl might be a crochety old bastard, but he's a pretty damn good coach, and to win a title you have to have decent players. Eddie Fogler - he sucks. Roy Williams - again you are so on top of it. All he ever does is consistently have a Final Four calber team every year.

And as for the new search, you had better believe that Dickie boy will be listening to Dean this time around. Although I am sure you consider Dean a failure too because he only won 2 NCAA titles. You should probably add him to your list too.

Success equals how many championships? Agreed he can teach - but why does he always move to the next challenge? Can't quite get over the hump.

The "fucking" Clippers had a little talent on that team, didn't they? Bill Walton? Heck, he even had Danny Manning at Kansas..

Didn't George build that team himself? Hard to blame the players for all of it. And Roy...well, "always a bridesmaid, never a bride"...

VP, you have a common theme going, don't you? CAN'T win the big one? Understood on Dean winning two, but hey, Mike has already won 3, in less time. But I digress.

    Duke jabs and UNC jabs?

Guess I'll have to get Dukie to come up with some Boma jabs.

Point was all those coaches from Duke listed couldn't make it in the nba, so they are stuck coaching. Guess it's better than sucking in the nba like the rest of the Duke rejects.

Yes, K has won more NCAA's than Dean did. He also played under different rules. How many of those would he have won if only the ACC tourney champ goes to the NCAA? I think one. And how did he do head to head against Dean? Also, Karl did not build that team - it was there when he was brought in, and his run ins with some of his players is well known. The problem is that he basically feels that the players are soft and don't put forward enough effort.

My point was that you can't come up with any decent coaches that have Duke ties, IMO. And how many championships has your group won? I guess the question is, which list of coaches would you rather have if you were starting a team? I'll take the UNC guys - replacing Fogler with Buzz. I don't think that you would find too many objective people who would disagree.
