I liked "Across the Sea" as a stand alone episode but I wish it had been placed earlier in the season. The one thing that kinda irked me was the flash to Kate, Jack & Locke finding Adam & Eve. That felt out of place for a show that hasn't been one to use an anvil to make a point. That one decision really took me out of the ep.

I liked this week's ep. No anvilicious answers but it made some things much clearer for me. I'm looking forward to Miles in the finale. I have a feeling he may get to play "exposition boy" a bit with his hearing the dead skills. He could be a great tool to answer some nagging questions in an organic to the show way.

 

I still think Jack's ex-wife is Juliette!

 

i'd have to think that is what's going on. i mean, ben could have killed widmore when they first saw each other. but he didn't. of course, people on the island do take pains to be confusing so maybe it's just that. ben has been redeemed, then made bad again, then redeemed again, so maybe this is another relapse... will he be redeemed yet again?

and yeah, i don't think mom was smokey but that doesn't mean she wasn't powerful.

 

wouldn't be surprised. they're avoiding her for some reason, it seems to me.

 

yeah, the cut to season 1 was a bit over the top. it's like they're trying to say that they had this planned all along or something. of course, in the first season the skeletons weren't next to each other. and jack had suggested they were dead for maybe 40-50 years based on the state of their clothing. i'm guessing it wasn't until much, much later that they came up with this idea on who those two people were.


i thought jack becoming the next protector was a bit anti-climactic. after all this stuff with candidates and stuff, it boiled down to asking for a volunteer and jack says he'll do it without much thought. i guess there's not really time to let that one germinate, but it seemed like a fizzled payoff to me. i also thought it was odd that kate was "back in" and that the names were "just chalk on a wall". they seemed so important up till then.


i'm digging the alternate universe stuff tho. i love desmond.

 

Well, they flew her in for filming and they haven't shown her yet. I expect to see her on Sunday night and I believe that she will be Jack's ex in the alternative universe also.

 

I'm wondering if its not gonna be quite that simple.
