LOST ended for me when the bomb went off at the end of last season. After the FINAL episode this year, somebody please tell me if it was even worth going back and watching the rest of this season, I quit watching 2 weeks ago. I can't make ANY sense out of the flashbacks/flashforwards/alternate realities of this season.

This has been the best season so far, at least IMO.

Why? Kate doesn't ever look hot anymore, all the eye candy is gone since Juliet left, Ben turns into Mr. Nice Guy, Sawyer lost his sense of humor, doesn't use nicknames anymore and everybody started calling him James, the storyline doesn't make any sense and everything contradicts everything else. Not even a hint of believability to it now. Did you watch all the previous seasons? I haven't really liked an episode yet this season. :94poopbanana-thumb1

I've watched every season. Sometimes it takes a little more than eye candy to make a show.

so if "locke" wanted them to die and he couldn't kill them himself and he knew the plan was to ditch him, why the hell did he disarm the bomb on the plane? why didn't he just let them board it and leave while he was "gone"?

also, i thought jack couldn't kill himself (remember the dynomite with richard?) so couldn't he have disarmed the bomb safely?

sun is a horrible mother. why didn't she tell jin that their daughter needs him? it's the romantic notion to sacrafice yourself to not leave your wife, but it's kinda fucked up to orphan your child because you're just so in love with your wife. while jin has no real connection to his daughter, you'd think sun would at last tried to convey that as a parent, jin has responsibilities. of course, she did bail on her and return to the island so maybe she's not the best judge of things.

hmm... daughter's name is presumably kwon. interesting. could she be the candidate?

speaking of kids, wtf ever happened to walt? it seemed like the first season (or 2?) were intimating something big with him. then poof.

i like the pacing of this season a bit more than others. definitely more actually happens, but i dunno that it's any better beyond that. the story has gotten really odd and i don't feel like i have any real sense of what motivates the different factions.

Ths Sun issue has come up on other boards so not sure about that. Knowing LOST, somebody may not be dead. As far as flocke not using the plane maybe he figured it would be harder to escape an underwater sub or maybe he still wants the plane to get off the island. Of course he could of used the sub for that as well. I dunno.

the plane wasn't going to fly. he knew that. im thinking that widmore and locke are in this together. widmore left the bomb there for him to rewire.

doubt it. once they messed with it, they interfered -- i'm guessing. so, the ball was in their court. jack was saying, if they just let it tick down and did nothing that it wouldn't have gone off. ding dong sawyer goofed that plan up.

plus, who knows -- maybe it only works with a candidate? the candidate?

also, it could just be that "the island" was done with them. which makes me think that if lupidis is dead, then maybe locke IS "the island" -- since the only reason lupidis was around was to carry out the illusion that the plane had a pilot to go along with locke's season-long con (that he wanted to get everyone on the plane to fly out).

the other side: they established earlier in the episode that their daughter was with family, so she was safe. plus, there's no guarantee that jin was going to make it home to their daughter -- that's a LONG way away. i could see it going down like it did.

doubt it since she wasn't "alive" coming off the island in the first place and wasn't necessary to come back to the island with the group. plus, that would come out of left field as far as character development and plot -- not saying that it couldn't happen, but it wouldn't seem to fit the LOST style of giving hints and introducing backstory before giving us something.

yeah. and aaron. and the other kids. and the kid in the jungle we've seen twice -- the one that bugs locke. we've always heard that "kids are special" on the island, so hopefully we'll get some tie-in here. i'm guessing walt returns in some capacity.

i think it's one of those things that'll make sense in the end. imagine if we all watched the movie memento together, but only in 10-minute clips. then we analyzed the hell out of those 10 minutes for a week. then we got another 10 minutes.

i'm in it for the long haul. it's a fantastic ride.

Me too, and liked every other season. Maybe they'll redeem themselves in the final, but IMO this season is just a bunch of discombobulated nonsense.
