    ok. after the sci-fi channel had a "land of the lost" marathon on last week (in advance of will ferrell's new movie), i am now fairly confident that jj abrams' "LOST" is based on the "land of the lost" tv show from the 70s.

    i'm like 99% sure of it.

    the similarities are astounding. time travel? alternate dimensions? "lost" travellers? the tropical location? all there. hell, even the actor who plays the lead sleestack is named John Locke. no lie. there's even a character named "uncle jack" in LOTL.

    others = sleestack
    dharma = altrusians
    dharmaville = the lost city
    caves = caves
    stations = pylons
    smokey = grumpy
    rosseau = jefferson davis collie

    there was also a galleon that had mysteriously crashed onto the LOTL and a guy who crash landed his hot air balloon onto LOTL. both happened on LOST.

    it's freakin' freaky.

    just knowing that abrahms was born in 1966 means that he was watching LOTL in the wheelhouse of his formative years (9-11). did you know that someof the same people who wrote for star trek wrote for LOTL? it was very WTF back in the day -- laying time travel on kids.

    it's no coincidence that the LOSTies are stuck back in the mid-70s. that's exactly when JJ was watching LOTL!

    you guys are going to freak out when those two skeletons turn out to be will and holly!
