OK...

The bear cages...now we know where the polar bear came from.

The underwater shark tank...remember the shark in the water with the Dharma logo on it? Now we know where THAT came from.

We also know that the Others were some sort of peaceful community...before the plane crash. Of course that was suspected.

It's also becoming obvious that the Others have contact with the outside world. This was shown by Jack's bio and the new clothes they were wearing.

 

From the film strips last season we knew they were conducting animal experiments and it speifically showed the polar bears. I wouldn't exactly call seeing what they lived in and a little example of the experiment "learning something new

Was that even very relevent?

no, not at all. we know they have some yet to be explained existance and a very direct plan for "when that plane crashes"

we knew that last year when the plane parachuted the supplies.

 

Yeah...we knew...

BUT...to see the actual cages was something knew. It's no longer speculation. We also knew about the parachutes, but was that for the Others? OR was it for the hatchies? The drop was next to the hatch.

 

Disagree. Sure, we don't know the EXACT purpose, but the plane crashed due to Desmond not entering the code. I don't think it was expected.

 

All the supplies had the dharma logo.

 

That's true...but the chute seemed intended for the hatch. Not the others. I've always thought the Others had broken away from Dharma...

 

Leads me to speculate as to whether the other's aren't actually the test subjects for Dharma.

 

And looking for replacements.

 

You know...I've had so many GOOD theories about this show. Then 3 episodes later they are blown to hell.

That's why I love it.

 

finally got a chance to watch it last night.

there's trouble brewing with the others. juliette seems like she might turn against them.

the book they were reading was stephen king's carrie and the music in the car when jack was watching his wife(?) at the school was from the stanley kubrick version of stephen king's shining i believe. dunno if there were more king tie-ins, but i was looking.

the community thing was a bit odd. didn't expect that.

i thought the orders ben barked out in response to the crash were a little too much like how we've seen things unfold. it felt a little silly. there should have been more going on that we didn't see (like instead of just sending the two guys who end up pretending to be survivors he should have sent two teams with the mission of one guy infiltrating -- it would have been more realistic).
