    sure, but the "others" could certainly be some sort of angel/devil type entities. they do seem to provide guidance...

    because it's too simple and at this point, a bit cliche. it'd be like the whole thing turning out to be a dream. it'd be wholy unsatisfying.

    What does that make Juliette? Is she not a real "other"?

    They are in the wrong part of the world for it happen but some bermuda triangle thing might make sense.

    It would be funny if this turned out to be all in Hugo's mind and everyone on the Island is either a patient or staff at the mental institution. I would laugh and then say a bad word or two.

    Not everyone believes in purgatory so it wouldn't mean a whole lot to those that don't believe in it. I think the producers are just playing up that angle since so many people first believed that's where they are at.

    I just hope it has an explanation and that they are not just making it up as they go along. I went through that with the X files already.
