Lost - Season II

I found Charlie's whole demeanor after the "blast" odd. It's almost like he (and everyone else, for that matter) were delirious. Like happy, but in a creepy way. Very, very strange.

 

I'm not convinced Michael and Walt have been "freed". They were given a boat and a bearing, but there's no telling where they're headed. Desmond said they're a week due east of Fiji, but 325 degrees is NNW.

I have a hunch that's going to be resurrected or at least explained next season.

 

Interesting theory. Or, it could've just been more pschological BS.

 

yeah, but keep in mind compasses are fucked up on the island -- so 325 might be what you need it to say to head towards fiji -- or a shipping lane or perhaps a rendevouz location for extraction. who knows? but the magnetic event might have actually fucked up their chance to get away. i mean, if it can cause a plane to crash, it could probably cause a boat to crash.

 

I was thinking to a power source and/or it might be a comm line.

 

I want to know if they are ever going to get anything right when dealing with the "others". Every time they deal with them they get bent over.

 

I was considering the magnetic interference effect on the compass, but once the reactor was destroyed, that shouldn't be an issue anymore, should it? Unless the island is also a natural magnetic anomale...

I'm thinking what caused the plane to crash was a form of EMP from the reactor that killed the plane's avionics. The same could happen to M&V's boat, I suppose, but with much less spectacular results.

 

They did manage to kill one before they were captured. That brings the K total against the others to at least two. I was just wondering if the others had ever killed any one of the passengers. I can't remember them doing so.

 

There was some redshirt guy killed by them early on. I remember how everyone was on alert and Locke was making speeches about not being alone. They also killed that guy that Ana Lucia threw in the pit.

I count three others that the passengers have killed, Ethan, the guy Ana Lucia Killed and the guy they killed in this episode. I am not really thinking body count though. I would like to see them outsmart the others just once.

 

Eko whacked a few when they were trying to abduct the tallies.
