I don't think that was a big enough cliffhanger for next year but it wasn't too shabby...

Those guys that were in the artic, did they have something to do with the project? Is Demond's girl looking for him? or does she have something to do with the project as well?

Didn't she said she say she had money? I'm sure she'd be looking for him but unless she's part of it also, she wouldn't know to look for magnetic disturbances and have a special team in the freaking artic looking for said disturbances. She's in on it somehow.

Spot on. What was the deal with the ginormous four toe statue base? That more than anything piqued my interest last night.

finally watched this thing (wife was out last night, so we had to wait till tonight to watch it together).

okay, so libby gives desmond his boat. she was married, her husband died -- she ends up a wreck. that could all be true. she did say her name was elizabeth -- and libby is easily a nickname for elizabeth.

the guy who grabbed desmond was the us military leader in iraq who got sayid to torture his commander. i thought that was interesting. again, a plant or was it another legit coincidence?

i found it somewhat amusing that locke did what no other person has done the entire time they were there on the island -- he said "hey, guess what i saw the other day..." and related an experience he had on the island. i guess the season finale had to move a bit quicker than normal episodes.

sayid's plan was ludicrous. "okay, you guys go ahead and i'll sail around and check it out first...." then, after they leave: "hey -- does anybody here know how to sail a boat?" not to mention there was no guarantee that michael was going to lead them where he said he was (which he didn't).

i'm surprised desmond didn't let on that he let the button timer get too far once and the whole place started to shake and shit was flying everywhere when locke first explained his plan. and why the hell did they execute the plan with so much time on the clock? why not wait till there was only like 10 minutes or so left?

i figured that print-out log would come back into the picture at some point, but i thought it would relate to michael's misuse of the computer. i didn't put together that desmond's story ran all the way up to the plane wreck, so his search of the log didn't click with me till he asked how long they'd been on the island.

the others seemed pretty unimpressed with the whole button thing -- in fact, gale (who seems to be the leader) wanted them to quit pushing it as far as i can tell. why else pretend he didn't push it?

charlie didn't answer claire's question about what happened and nobody was shown to investigate -- i find that odd. but then i figure the writers probably need some time to come up with a 3rd season story arc and there's no reason to paint themselves into a corner already.

i'm surprised that walt and michael are being freed. i wonder if he's going to feel like he needs to make amends and return. that would be lame, but walt seems important to the whole story... but then, so did the smoke monster and that thing seems to have disappeared entirely.

"we're the good guys"? wtf? the other dude in hatch with desmond was in the military before joining dharma. i wonder if "the good guys" refers to the good guys in a grander way -- like "we're the us military" or something.

desmond's chick is looking for him. those dudes in ... um... wherever they were (i was thinking siberia or maybe antarctica) are looking for the signature of the magnetic anomoly. now, the question is -- why? how did they come to the conclusion that such an anomoly is related to desmond? unless she's got some inside information. the guy who plays charles widmore (her pop) used to be on the oc (i can't believe i know that) so i'm guessing he's got more than just 3 lines in the series. this story line is going places. he might even have some dharma connections, tho he'd clearly not be helping his daughter find desmond. so if he's connected to dharma, it's deep enough that she'd be connected as well (in the sense that she'd know people).

what the fuck is up with a giant foot statue? that makes very little sense to me.

Polar Bears? -- supposedly some zoological experiments and the bears must have been subjects.

Why did Kate rob a bank to steal a toy airplane? -- cuz she didn't want to alert the authorities that she had opened the box. which is odd, cuz having told the bank guy that, she was pretty much alerting them. i'm more curious why she went to such trouble to make sure that she could keep the plane once the brief case was opened. like who the fuck would worry about her hording a little fucking toy plane?

Black horse hallucination? -- or the hallucinations in general. that shit i just don't get.

Why does the island heal people? -- actually, i think i just came up with a theory on this as i was typing my response. perhaps there IS a virus on the island, only the virus is physically restorative. it could be the thing that's healing people.

Why was Locke in a Wheel chair? -- we'll probably learn more about that as the healing stuff is explored more.

What really happened to Danielle’s team? -- she killed them, didn't she? supposedly they went crazy, but it's just as likely that she did.

Is “the other” named “Alex” Danielle’s daughter? -- that's the thought. btw, did you notice alex grabbed herself to handfulls of kate when she went to pick kate up. she immediately moved her hands under kates arms after this. i guess they liked the take anyways (it's near the end of the episode).

What is the story with the black rock? -- good question. could be as simple as a shipwreck or as crazy as... well, crazy.

Why do they take the children? -- they take all kinds, but they seem to start with children. i'm guessing it's to keep their numbers up, but i dunno. i mean, danielle was kidnapped and now she's a gun-totting member. either that, or it's an aborted plotline (see monster, smoke).

Does Walt really have special powers? -- if he does, he ain't leaving the island. so maybe it depends on his contract status. he was remarkably absent from season 2 given that one of the major arcs dealth with him. i'm guessing he does have some kind of powers, tho.

What is the Monster? -- good fucking question. i really don't see how it fits into the scheme of things. it seems the writers don't either as it used to be the main nemesis and now it's an after-thought at best.

Is their or is their not a “sickness”? -- see above. i think there's references to genetic experiments somewhere in the show (the map maybe). anyway, gene therapies are typically created by splicing genes into viruses as a delivery method. perhaps the "sickness" is a super-cure gene therapy that's loose on the island. if there is an aspect of sickness, nothing has been reported about it beyond mental issues -- which could be a side effect.

What happened to Jacks fathers’ body? -- dunno.

Who were the “Adam and Eve” mummies they found in the cave? -- seems this island has had a lot of visitors. they could have been anybody.

What happened to the Black/White theme we had in season 1? -- i think a lot of things started out one way only to end up a different way later on. the writers go down one path until they determine a more interesting one. when you look back at where you've been, sometimes it doesn't look like a very straight line. there are probably a number of abortive story arcs that may or may not come back into play later.

Where did Danielle’s electrical cable go to on the ocean end? -- a big battery? probably a question without an answer.

Libby points out that the washer and dryer are newer, is this significant? -- it was at the time. everything is significant, only things might change before the significance is revealed (i mean this from the standpoint of what the writers intend to do with the story).

They portray Libby as a mental patient at the end of one episode, significant? -- ditto.

Who, exactly are Hanso, Candle, and the DeGroots? -- exactly.

Why was Walt speaking backwards, in a vision, to Shannon? -- an homage to twin peaks perhaps?

What was the point of the Shannon and Boone characters in the overall theme? -- i suspect that's not fixed in stone at the moment. perhaps the resolution to the story will make that clear, or perhaps it will ignore them altogether.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE NUMBERS? -- very likely they are totally irrelevant. at least, in the sense of having some deeper meaning.

Did Hurley own the box company that Locke worked for, and if so why didn’t they know each other? -- he owned it, but he didn't run it. he was probably just the majority stock holder (he owned it as an investment from his major winnings).

How come only Rose realized Locke was in a wheel chair when he got on the plane? -- that's a good fucking question. people in wheel chairs are borded first, so you'd think people would notice a guy being loaded onto the plane as they're getting anxious to board it themselves. if you've ever ridden a plane, you know that as boarding begins, people huddle around and try to get on before other people can get on. you'd think they'd notice a guy getting on before them.

Why didn’t she question his sudden ability to walk earlier in the show? -- same reason nobody asks anybody else any questions, i suppose. i think an additional side effect of the virus is an increased sense of mystery and a decreased sense of curiousity.

Why did Ethan kidnap Claire? -- wanted the kid, i guess. maybe to see what the island (and virus?) does to infants. or maybe just to get a new kid on board.

What happened to Cindy? -- who's cindy?

What are the whispers? -- besides lame. probably a residule from not wanting to show the others before making them a feature of the island. it's now their motif -- whispers = others before the others are seen.

What was the significance of the glass eye? -- the what? is it in the episode with cindy? i'm drawing a blank.

Anyone notice how Desmond said they weren't in a snow globe? That was a homage to St Elswhere and I guess puts to rest the theory that this is all a dream.
