I just get the feeling that her whole back story of breaking into the bank vault to steal the toy airplane had some significant meaning.

as for Locke, I just wonder why we've seen several episodes of his back story and none have revealed why he was in a wheel chair. perhaps the wheel chair was just a ruse.

She was actually on the plane though, and Jack was found lying in the woods. He wasn't on the beach so there's no telling where everyone landed. The tallies landed in the water, the originals seem to have been scattered along or close to the beach.

Stealing the airplane from a bank vault is pretty fishy. Granted Kate was on the plane but who knows what happened with the plane. It could be that none of them were really on the plane when it crashed. What are the odds that anyone let alone that many survive a plane crash of that magnatude and most without a scratch? It could be that they were tricked into thinking it crashed and were knocked out and placed on the beach with debris all around. The memory of the plane breaking up mid air is going to be fuzzy at best given the drama of the situation. I am thinking with my "X files" hat now, it could be staged just like an alien abduction....

I just can not see Locke as an "other". You see Locke in a wheel chair at his job before he leaves for Austrailia. Besides that he cared too much about opening the hatch and the island's mysteries to be an other. He would already know all that stuff if he were an other.
