    Lost Will Answer Questions

Bryan Burk, executive producer of ABC's hit series Lost, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming May 24 season finale will answer a lot of questions about the island and the castaways. "I think last year, we didn't answer as much as we could have, but we obviously left lots [of questions unanswered]," Burk said in an interview at "Destination: L.A.," a fan party for charity, in Glendale, Calif., on May 20. "I think this year we answer a lot more. Not everything, obviously, but there are a lot more answers, and it still has a big enough cliffhanger ... ending that will have everyone in numerous conversations over the summer."

The two-hour finale, "Live Together, Die Alone," culminates the second season's building story arc, in which Jack (Matthew Fox) and Sayid (Naveen Andrews) come up with a plan to confront he Others and try to rescue Walt (Malcolm David Kelley). Meanwhile, Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Locke (Terry O'Quinn) come to blows as Locke makes a potentially cataclysmic decision regarding the button and the hatch

"It's always a question at the end of the year, for us: ... What do you answer? What don't you answer? What new things are you going to [raise]?" Burk said. "It's the same question that we had at the end of last year, which was 'Do we show you Desmond last year? Do we show you this year? What will leave you with a summer where you definitely want to come back, but we've ... also given you enough clues and enough answers?'"

Burk added: "There's actually a lot more things going on at the end of this episode. ... The entire episode has a lot more going on than the season finale of last year, so I believe that, while you're going to be getting a lot more answers to a lot of questions, you're also going to have a lot more to discuss over the summer."

Just a hunch based on that neither of their back stories make a whole lot of sense.

I can not see Locke as an other. He is was too committed to his quest to find meaning in the island to be one of them. Kate could be one of them though. She was in custody and on her way to jail and a possible death sentence. Dharama may have offered her a deal to get her out of it. Maybe her dad's military ties got her involved. She walked out of the woods after the plane crash just like the guy with the tailies. I am not sure I buy it but it is plausible that she could be one of the "others". She was conveniently captured so Jack would stop pursuing Micheal. She has been sowing discord between Jack and Sawyer from the start.
