    same reason he insisted claire go, i suppose: it was their fate. of course, being their fate you'd think it would take very little work to get them to the island, but i suppose it was the psyschic's fate to have to work for it.

    this is the problem with going down the road of the paranormal -- you're trying to make things meaningful, but they actually become meaningless.

    I don't think this was the first paranormal thing.

    The misty monster thing was paranormal - both times.

    John being out of a wheelchair - kinda paranormal.

    yeah, but those were at least semi-explainable. the smoke monster is definitely odd, but could be some sort of strange high-tech weapon made up of smart particles or some bizarre shit like that. hard to explain, but at least bordering on the explainable. the psychic friends stuff is absolutely unexplainable by any means other than paranormal activity... unless somebody has the scientific ability to project thoughts to people...
