maybe he communicated with michael. keep in mind people have "personal visions" on this island. nobody else saw the communication, so michael could have been seeing things. of course, walt is a popular vision, so perhaps there's more to it than simple halucinations. in which case, it's still communication, but perhaps not truly thru the computer.

and technically, i don't think he ever did identify himself as walt, but that doesn't diminish the idea that the computer terminal is potentially being monitored.

strangely, the piece of film that tells them not to use the computer for communicating was removed (tho it was done so poorly that the generic warning of not using the computer for anything else was pretty much intact in the film). why remove that unless you wanted somebody to attempt to contact people? the consequences are implied to be duplication of "the incident".

i'm curious if "the incident" is actually people ending up on the island. that communicating only attracts attention and attention gets you landed on the island somehow. so "the incident" refers to a group of people landing there and the troubles that followed them.

regardless, it sounds like there's a concerted effort to cause another incident. of course, if only not pressing the button caused such a thing, then it's already been done since henry could have simply not pressed it. no reason to convince them to not do it when he had the very power himself for a moment. makes me think it must be a localized bad thing to be avoided if possible or a non-thing alltogether.

hmmm.... is it really only thursday?

So, at this point, can we pretty much say if they let the countdown proceed, the chamber locks down, black lights come on, and you can see a schematic of the island?

Oh yeah, Locke was trying to figure out the static from the speakers when it locked down. Wait a minute...Locke, lockdown. Isn't that too much of a coincidence for everyone? :imagestor

remember the guy that was in the hatch, at the beginning of the season? So, was he just a plant from "the others", or was he part of dharma/experiement, and where is he now?

we've known about the magnet for a while. remember when jack's key on his necklace floated toward the wall when he first enterd the hatch? and when he and sayid were exploring under the hatch -- there was somethign about magnets mentioned there, too.

the only way you hear a magnet is if it's being electrically charged -- creating an electromagnet.

guess who discovered electromagnetism? Hans Orsted...HansO

My first thought was a church, too, or at least an altar. I'm thinking he didn't want to tell Charlie because he wouldn't take it seriously.

I didn't think of Total Recall, I was thinking more along the lines of The Matrix. I did use the phrase 'mind job' though, and yes -- that is the best way to describe it.

You're a better man than me, Nut. I didn't get even a hint of that in the basketball scene.
