I am with you. This has been one of the best episodes, I think, overall just from the stand point that it has generated a lot of discussion due to the map. Pretty cool stuff.

I still get the supernatural vibe. I think that the quantum physics angle would be an interesting way to explain a lot of the goings on. Quantum physics is kind of like the supernatural because a lot of it doesn't follow any of the immutable natural laws of physics. Pretty cool stuff.

well, i didn't think i had a theory, but i guess i sort of do because i keep trying to fit it into all of the flashbacks...

i'm thinking that the parents/guardians of everyone on the island was part of the 70s dharma initiative. these are the kids of the first group. somehow, their guardians/hanso/oceanic/widmore/dharma has orchestrated much of their lives. there's serious money involved and they were all "arranged" to be on flight 815 somehow. in the flashbacks, it seems that everyone was on that particular flight for a reason. maybe there are some dharma people planted on the plane. maybe there are two distinct factions of dharma people -- fundies and liberals? ones who think the experiments should continue and ones who think the group should be told? dunno. but kids/parents seem to be a central role. dharma was mixed up in a bunch of different experiments that crossed all planes of science (much like today's cognitive science studies). the island is like experiment central.

anyway, i'm not so sure it's a theory as much as it's the beginnings of trying to find common elements.

Ain't that the truth. Even the really smart scientists that work in the field don't even understand it yet. Pretty cool.

Can't think of anything particular that puts Jack's dad with Dharma. Or Kate's parents, either. Still plausible, though.

That actually has a pretty good ring to it but it seems almost too convenient.
