I have read stuff like that before and it is far from concrete proof. It all sounds pretty theoretical.

Even if it were proven to be biological it would still be a sin if you gave into it.

Wrong again. People have less children when burdened with fiscal problems and resource crunches. That is why most of the marraige benefits are fiscal.

There are really two arguments going on in this thread. It started off about the church and its failure to accept homosexuality and has morphed into another argument about gay marriage.

If you leave the legal arguments about what the state should or should not allow regarding marriage aside and just focus on the church it is a pretty clear cut argument. The church can not accept homosexuality without giving up what they believe, namely the bible and its teachings. If you want the church to change that then you are being unreasonable.

There are 2 possibilities that I see, and it's never really resolved as far as I know.

    1. Adam & Eve had girls, and Cain married his sister.
    2. God made another woman for Cain, but it wasn't included in the Genesis account.

Personally, I would lean more toward the latter than the former, but I don't have any hard evidence to back it up. It just seems to fit better theologically.

Perhaps a better way of saying it would be that the Bible regulates the context of sex, more than anything else. Using your example, oral sex is actually glorified in the Song of Songs (a.k.a. Song of Solomon) if I'm not mistaken, but the context is between a man and his wife. The same act between a man and woman who were not married would be just as condemned as it would be between 2 men or 2 women.

When I say that the Bible doesn't address orientation directly, I mean that I haven't found any condemnation for same-sex attraction -- I've only found condemnation for acting on it.

    Make sense?

I wouldn't disagree with that at all. In fact, I think that's pretty much in line with Constitutional intent for American society.
