I figured someone would bring this up. Yes, it is possible that there could be multiple alleles on the same gene for sexuality, but it's not likely. Your examples are of traits that have at least 3 separate types. For example, with eye color, there is Blue, Green, and Brown. Neither of those three are mixtures of the other 2. That's why it's multi-allelic. Same thing with hair color. Now, there ARE three types of sexual preference. But, bisexuals are a combination of heterosexuals and homosexuals. That makes it much more likely to be co-dominant. I'm not saying it's not gene-related. It's just not likely.

 

explain handedness in genetic terms. there's only two types (as you define them) -- lefties and righties. ambidexterity is the mixture of the two (again, by your definition). so how does this fit into your magic box?

What are they then.

 

0 - totally hetero
1- hetero with slight homo tendency (dreams and thoughts)
2- hetero with some homo tendency (have experimented)
3- bi
4- homo with some hetero tendency
5- homo with slight hetero tendency
6- completely homo

The study just shows that sexuality is not a black or white issue, which I don't believe it is.

Kinsey also said the if there were 10 random people in an elevator, most likely 1 will be gay (or in the 4-6 range). I would be hanging out with my gay friends in college and we would be in a dorm elevator and they would always say. "Well there goes the Kinsey theory."

sure, but it's pretty ironic to say "3 types of sexuality? that's ludicrous! there are in fact 7!" it's like saying "the universe doesn't orbit the earth, it orbits the sun."
