Weren't Jerusalem and Israel often used to describe the people instead of the place?

I never heard you say that anyone told him he lost his salvation when he married a black woman.

A lot of people do not think inter-racial marriage is a good thing. A lot of black people believe that. I do not think it can be backed up in the bible though. I do not think it makes you a racist to believe that though.

"Mad at God"?? No JB. "Frustrated" is a better word.

'Christians' in gereral piss me off and if that's the type of people that will be in heaven (and I don't think it will), I'd rather not spend eternity with them.

You are Frustrated at God? Fred, are you a Christian? So, you want to be in Hell with those other type people?
So, what do you think Heaven is? some kind of social club?

Fred, I think you & I are close to the same age . . . Do you remember a TV series called "Night Gallery," hosted by Rod Serling? Several weird/creepy vignettes per episode.

I remember one of them was about a guy who was fascinated by demonic images & stories. Since he was all into that stuff, he'd decided to live an evil life so he could go to hell. And he died & went to hell . . . but HIS hell was a little room with boring-ass people showing slides from their last trip. He was going nuts! Then the "big guy" told him, "There's a room just like this one 'up there.'"

I know this is a weird digression, but your post reminded me of this. Heaven & hell are both in the eye of the beholder. :)

so, whatever you want heaven and hell to be, that's what they'll be? Fred wants heaven to be a 18 yr. old with a butt tight enough you can bounce a quarter off of. Fred wants hell to be the same thing except you, builder and missteri will be in the background dancing around a fire with a clown suit on.

No, I don't mean they're exactly what you want them to be--if they exist at all. Just that they're not necessarily the way we imagine them to be, either. BTW, most of our "traditional" ideas about heaven & hell don't come from the Bible; they come from Dante's epic poetry: "Inferno," "Purgatorio," & "Paradisio."
