I have been in southern baptist churches and never heard it preached that salvation depended on behaviour. It is always based on whether you accept or reject Christ. They may condemn the things you mention but they do not base salvation on them.

My entire family is Southern Baptist. When my uncle married a black woman, they acted like he had just made a pact with the devil. They didn't even give him an invitation to the Christmas party. My cousin got alot of flack when he got a woman preacher to marry him and his wife. There are no black people at my church. When I went to my Grandpa's church for his funeral, there were no black memebers present. Most people my age are ashamed to admit they're Southern Baptist because of their beliefs. It is that, plus other reasons, that I'm conflicted spiritually.

That's because you are heterosexual and have not had to sit and wonder why i don't like the little girls like the rest of the boys do. You've never wondered why in the hell you're gay no matter how hard you've fought it, prayed about it and finally looked at God and said, "I'm tired of lying. I'm tired of trying to be something I'm not. I'm me, you made me this way- I have no other option left to explore."

It's very easy to sit and be what society expects of you and what comes natural to you is the accepted "norm." Maybe you wouldn't be so fast and eager to throw stones if you had to look at it from the other point of view for a while.
