I agree but I have a strong feeling that your idea of it is different than mine. We are therefore left with which person's definition is correct.

I am unaware of any direct attacks I have made on the godliness or lack of godliness that anyone on here displays. I may comment on behaviour that they admit to participating in but I usually only say derrogatory things about individuals who sink to name calling or display a complete lack of respect for our troops who are in harm's way.

No Thelt. You are again assuming we have a different definition because I don't share your solutions. We simply disagree on how to solve what we both think is a problem. I can think the world is going to hell without wanting to save it the same way that you do. :)

We have radically different positions on certain issues such as abortion. How can you think we share a common definition of right and wrong when we are so far apart on that issue?

    2 Peter 3:8-9
"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

I tend to think of time beginning when God created the heavens on the first day. The way the text is written, it implies there were no "days" before that point.

But the Genesis account (as far as I know) is largely written in Hebrew poetry, which implies the use of artistic language and illustration to make points, not necessarily to convey facts (as Sly mentioned earlier).

All that to say that it could've been 7 days, 7000 years, or 700 million years. I really don't know that we'll ever know for sure.

    It's not quite like that.

More like, "I don't want her lost anymore. What is it going to take to break her pride enough to seek Me out? Should I allow this horrible thing to happen to her, even though as a result of it, she may spend eternity with Me?"

Would a better way of saying it be, "without strife, sickness, and sin there would be no motivation to look for God."?

He rules the universe in the form of Jesus, according to Revelation.

    What about Revelation 21:1-4?

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

He will according to the Southern Baptists. But then again, according to them, you'll go to hell for having interacial relationships, and for having a woman preacher, etc etc. Now do you see where I was going with that?:)
