This sounds like God is conducting some sort of sadistic experiments on the human race. "Let's have her diseased & abused & see what she does . . . " What utter bullshit.

I've been pretty open about myself here, in this thread, & elsewhere on the board. I was abused as a child--physically, sexually, & psychologically. And as previously noted, I'm heterosexual. I'm open-minded & tolerant, generally speaking; & pretty much a mellow, law-abiding citizen.

Even if I DID believe in the type of God you describe here, I could have no respect for him. I'd call him a sadist & condemn myself to hell.

Thats what is sounds like to you. God does not guarantee everyone happiness. Nor does he gloat in their unhappiness. Without strife, sickness, and sin there would be no need for God. Our relationship with God is two way.

Disease and suffering entered into the world due to man disobeying God. God did not create sin, man did that. God sent his son to die as payment for that sin. Prior to Adam and Eve eating the apple there was no disease and no suffering.

One other thing. I honestly don't think God is too concerned with our temporal bodies here on earth. He doesn't like to see us unhappy but he knows that in the grand scheme our time on earth is fleeting compared to eternity. However, even those born with diseases or whatever can find the means to be happy in God.

I don't believe in heaven on earth. I think we will be with God and glorify in his presence. MY personal belief on this is that this will take the form of a collective consciousness.

I don't worry about losing my religion. And I know I can't lose my relationship with God.

you take alot of heat from people on this board for what you say. but we all could learn a lesson from this statement and that goes for believers as well as non-believers. :applause:

ever read the book of job? his own wife told him to curse God and die. in the face of all his adversity, job was faithful and in the end he gained his reward. faith is a hard thing to grasp for some. faith in the face of suffering, especially the suffering of the innocent, is difficult for most people to fathom. we must humble ourselves to His will, also difficult for most to fathom. there are/have been situations in my life that could give reason for some to question God and turn away. but my faithfulness to Him has helped me deal with those situations. i would be glad to expound sometime if you would be willing to listen.
