looks like Henning to a goner

Discussion in 'Carolina Panthers' started by Tiorted Snoil, Jan 2, 2003.

  1. looks like Henning is a goner

I heard on Kornheiser's (sp) show on 610 that the Panthers are willing to let Henning out of his contract in order for him to go to Dallas to be with Parcells....Peete may be gone too.

If I were Peete I would probably go also. He wouldnt have to play and Im guessing hes more of a West coast guy. Dallas would be closer to home.

I heard the same thing on Patrick's show - I sure as hell hope it's true.

I think Jim Skipper will be our OC -

Keep the conservative "low turnover" concept and apply it with the next OC and:

Sign low milage/high intellect career backup Jason Garrett (Fox Giants connection) to assume the 1 or 2 year mentor and 2003 backup"Peete" role.

Sign Koy Detmer as the (effective version of the) "Weinke" one year starter and eventual long-term backup role.

DRAFT ELI MANNING in the "future friggin franchise QB this team has ALWAYS needed" role!

Those three would be extremely compatible together and kick a huge helping of ass as a QB squad.)

My bet is that if Henning goes if the
    • Panthers raise a assistant to OC, Peete Stays
    • They go elsewhere for a OC, Peete goes

I wouldn't mind Sean much. I do think he got somewhat of a bad rap with his demotion.
I'd take Skipper too. His son's a good RB coach to replace him.
Either way we MUST have a QBs coach.

I like Williamson and Breaux but I'd be willing to let either go as well.

I know he still wants to play but I think Peete would make a good quarterbacks coach.
