I'm looking to buy an acoustic guitair. I had an electric one back in my high school days and couldn't play it worth a crap but always enjoyed picking out little tunes. After hearing a couple friends play recently I decided that maybe I ought to give it a serious chance - can anyone suggest a good beginners guitar? Something low cost for the newbie?

I just bought some Elixer Custom Light Strings for my Fender...oooooohhhh they sound so good :mushy:

    Look on Ebay....

My first guitar was a Yamaha which cost me about 150

my fender electric/acoustic ran about 550

but you have to get some Elixer strings :mushy:

what do you play, Sav? Is it like a 335 Gibson, or more like an Ovation-style acoustic with a pickup?
Also you said something about hooking up to the computer. Are you just running a line?

"low cost for the newbie" would be a store like sams or costo. they carry guitar. check there first.

    ebay is an option.

however, i wouldnt trust it too much. ebay, i mean. i have not shopped ebay for stuff like that, so i dunno. i will look on ebay only to compare prices, brand, etc.

the fact that i cant hold it and try it first would make me not buy on ebay.

local music stores. some will have used guitars for sale
