    good call. wait till you get to play with the new xbox interface coming in a month...it's INSANELY improved, with the netflix integration as the star feature.

    Relevant info:
    The last gaming console I bought was a Sega Genesis. Since then its been all computer games. Mostly turn based stuff (Civ, etc) til Call of Duty came along. Wife hasn't played since the Sega was boxed up and would probably want some beginner level arcade games that aren't too stupid. Plus, she wants to slap a Ho in Grand Theft Auto.

    Netflix just announced they are gonna be streaming HD movies to 360 in the next few weeks.

    Ironically that is coming to the 360 a month or so before it comes to Netflix's own streaming device, the Roku. Good news for 360 owners.

    so a friend got an arcade version for $200 and apparently you can get refurb HDs for $20.

    Yeah, MS is running a program right now for Arcade owners. You can either get a free 512 MB memory card or you can get a refurb HD for $20. This is so every X360 owner can d/l and store the new XBL interface coming out later in November.

    With the recent price drops and this promotion you can get a brand new Arcade plus a used HD for as cheap or cheaper than a Wii, it's a great deal.
