    i really dont know too much about hawkins- but he does seem to fit the standard prototype for this FO's FA signings- middle of career, relatively cheap, and cut by some other team.

    i'm sure its a lateral move at worst as far as cousins is concerned- if we add a solid corner either via the draft or FA- i'll be happy with our cb's.

    just crossed my mind- is this a panic move?

    I talked to a Bengals fan a couple of years ago that really seemed to know football. He said Hawkins did a lot of things real well, but had poor ball skills, or something. I paid a little attention to him since because of that conversation (although I didn't watch him.) It looks like he's as good as Cousin, and maybe even Howard. He's one of those potential guys. Cousin doesn't have the tools physically. This guy does. If they can coach him, then they could have a player.
