i finally found some decent pizza in charlotte. wolfman pizza. fuel city veggie pizza tasted like the dirt from which the veggies came. brixx tasted like cheese melted on toasted cardboard light. the whole pie weighed less that a 16th of an ounce. wolfman didn't really look like anything particularly special but delivered in the taste department. a little more pricey than i like to pay, but will pay it again before buying any pies listed above or going to any popular chain pizza restaurants. have craved a decent pizza for 10 months.. ahhhhhhh feels good

Hawthorn doesn't use enough sauce and I refuse to consider Wolfman as Pizza. I haven't tied Luisas but in general this town has no good pizza.

Brooklyn's Famiglia Pizzeria and Romano's in Concord both have pretty good pizza. Amalfi's isn't bad either. The word I get is that the water in the south sucks for making pizza, so some places import their pizza dough water from NY.

It's easy to replicate the water conditions from anywhere in the world. Plus, wouldn't you really be trying to replicate the water conditions from Italy?

I heard this from a different Brooklyn person about a pizza place in Florida... They have the water sent from Brooklyn to make the dough.
And you have a point about Italy, but isn't real pizza from NY anyway?
