Jake was 95% of the problem.

You have your opinion. Jake sucked ass. Never debated that for a second. Yes, his performance was among the worst, if not the worst (statistically) ever. moving on from that....

There were so many other things happening on the field, and more specifically, on the bench, that contributed to it. I saw (first hand from 6 feet away) confused looks on coaches. they were ill prepared (IMO) for what AZ threw at them. That passed down to the players--it snowballed from there.

No, Collin, I'm not being sensitive to your comments. Again, I read what you post (when you and Mags aren't trying to rape each other in your arguments) and generally agree with what you say. Hanging the entire game on Jake is unfair. he shoulders more of it than most, but they all blew chunks Saturday night.

There is no moving on from that. You acknowledge "worst EVER" and then want to move on? To what? It's like saying, "yes, Hiroshima did get hit with a nuclear bomb but it also got hit with conventional weapons too!" There is no getting beyond the fact that Jake Delhomme was responsible for six turnovers, and all of them were his fault. No team wins if their quarterback does that, regardless of how anyone else plays.

No, it isn't unfair at all. Jake deserves all the blame. All of it. Nothing anyone else could have done would have overcome six turnovers, it just might have kept the score closer. I've pointed out that Marshall did some terrible things, and that Fox/Trgovac made a serious mistake by sticking with their conventional gameplan. But Jake Delhomme was on an entirely different level and deserves 100% of the blame for that loss. Trying to make excuses for that performance doesn't do you any favors, so I'm glad that you're backing off your earlier statements.

Think what you want. I haven't backed off of anything--I still believe every player and coach had a hand in that debacle, and said that Jake was equally accountable.

Don't bother multi-quoting me again--you're wasting your time trying to goad me into a deeper argument about it. They all sucked.

You go ahead and hand out your percentages.

Jay Mariotti was on TV and stated that no team could ever overcome a performance by it's QB like Jake turned in. That's not to say that other players didn't play like shit or that coaches didn't put the team in winning situations, but even if all the rest had been perfect, Jake played bad enough to lose the game. I can't disagree with that.

Your reaction isn't surprising, as pride makes a lot of people defensive. Yes, you absolutely did back off the idiotic things you were saying earlier. Before you were saying that "every player and coach was horrible Saturday night" and that Jake was getting an unfair share of the blame because he's the quarterback. After correction, you backed off of those comments and now say that "every player and coach had a hand in that debacle." That's still wrong, but at least you're moving toward reality.

Believe me, the last thing I'm trying to do is goad you into continuing the argument. I'm actually doing the opposite. I'm trying to do you a big favor by getting you to shut the fuck up and stop embarrassing yourself. Years later people are still mocking Thelt with the way I utterly destroyed him following his Kemoeatu comments. You don't need that.

I know exactly what your talking about, not benching players etc. But let me as you a question, after you have 'bench riders', such as McCown etc. Why do you put them in in that situation. Jake has been your QB all year, and it's ridiculous to bench him. Bottom line, blame the coaching, the players play, coaches coach, fans watch (and as we all do, bitch at the coaches/players/opposing fans/ and can't help but to at the referees). My point, is you don't make a decision like that in a game like that. I don't know about you, but some of the greats (Jake is no great, but making my point) have had worse games, they didn't get benched. You don't just go pulling starters because of one game. Blame the coaching, they called the passes he threw... Doesn't change the fact he sucked though.

    50-32 with a 5-3 playoff record.

    I'll stick with that.

Only this flaming douchebag could compare an NFL performance to the bombing of Hiroshima.
