True, McCown and Moore will be set up as potential starters with maybe one more guy thrown into the mix. Neither of those guys would kill us. I'm hoping for a true upgrade, though.

    Josh McCown:

    Regular season totals G46 Comp609 Att1052 57.9% Yds6,582 TD35 INT40

After being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft, then-Cardinals coach Dennis Green said of McCown, "I think he's going to be a great one, when I buy into a quarterback, I really do."

He was dumped by the 2005 Cardinals, the 2006 Lions, the 2007 Raiders and the 2008 Dolphins (coming off a 1-15 year)....a veritable who's who of suck shit teams.

And you guys think he's the answer?

I'd like to see him get a shot at showing what he can do, but his becoming a top 10 QB in this league is wishful thinking.

I'm here nor there on Mccown, but that's not the whole picture.

He played respectably for the Cards, and he was a young dude. That franchise had alot of issues, not a great place for a rookie. He was dumped for leinart, who promptly stepped in and played worse.

He never played for detroit. AS poorly as detroit was ran, I can't fault him for that.

    Oakland doesn't even count.

Parcells thought highly enough of him to rebuild around him. I think that says something. Of course, when Pennington was dumped, Parcells made the right move in grabbing him, and we got McCown for cheap, I believe.

Mccown never played for a team that had a run game like we do.

    So - there's the devil's advocate, FWIW.

There's never been a QB named Josh in the Hall of Fame, so....

You're normally not this retarded. Have you been taking stupid pills? No one is saying that McCown is "the answer," and I haven't even seen anyone suggest that they want him to be the starter. What we're saying is that because of his contract, he's almost certainly going to be the only veteran "competition" for Jake on the team next season, and that acquiring him might mean Fox sees him as the starter after 2009. All the "that's depressing" comments might clue you in that no one seems to be excited about it.

Here is food for thought........Another qb that the panthers are very high on and nobody has brought up is Kyle Boller. Although I am not advocating for him, he is definitely out in Baltimore after this year, thoughts????????????????? Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up here.
