You are in the prime of your life (what ever age/stage that is for you) and you have been told that your life is to end in the next 1-6 years. What do you do?
You still have responsibilities (bills/family) and need to continue to provide while you are still around, but there are opportunities that will allow you to do some things that you have wanted to pursue, but the economics of it has held you back. Do you finally do what you have wanted to do knowing upfront that you probably will not make the same kind of money/benefits and may struggle financially during this time?
Just curious what some would do.

Abandon my pursuit of parenthood, first.

Second, book a trip to Hawaii next February.

Third, start writing. I'd write as much as I could. With as little as a year to go, it's not even as much about getting published as it is about getting it down on paper (or a hard drive).

Sure, I'd try to laugh more, reach out more, try to fix a few broken or strained relationships. But there are some things I can't do in heaven that I can do here, and that's not a lot of time to get those things done.

first thing i do is transfer everything i own out of my name. then get as much credit as possible (because mine is good and i can)...im talkin filling out every application, form, raffle entry, online or other credit application for any and everything possible. max cash withdrawl all of them and abuse that Amex till it's screaming momma. keep applying for credit and head to where it's tropical to watch that last sun set sipping a cool cocktail which has been put on my tab.

oh...i may change my address before i go to throw the collectors off :xyzthumbs

I'm thinking you've thought about this before.
