I tried wellbutrin to help me quite smoking, and instead started having real bad anxiety attacks. Doctor took me off wellbutrin and put me on Lexapro, it help me get myself straighted out. No side effects really, just take it in the morning. Seems to want to keep you awake if you take it at night. I took it for six months and then wheened myself off of it. It really helped me.

I was worried about the whole alcohol part. I haven't been able to drink anyways for the past month being on and off antibiotics for either sinuses or an infected salivary gland, and damn I'm missing me a margarita right now! I guess I shouldn't be worried about it as long as I'm not going out and partying every night.

Heck coops, alot of my relatives take Lexapro and I've yet to hear any negative feedback about it from them. Also if you worry about things alot, I know its great for that to. I was put on 10 mgs a day and it did great for me, but also I know my mom is taking 20 mgs a day and she swears it really helps her nerves. If I ever have to take anything again, it would be Lexapro. Good luck, I hope it helps you to.

The drug company Lilly is really beginning to push Cymbalta. It seems to be the drug of choice for depressed people with chronic pain. Cymbalta works not only on serotonin in the brain, but the norepinephrine as well.

Thanks Warrior. I was just telling my Mom tonight that I've noticed that the "little" things don't bother me like they used to. I know it's the Lexapro. It's helping me sleep at night. Not that I'm sleeping straight through the night, but I'm getting better sleep than I have in a long time.

Welbutrin did that same thing to me and actually increased my insomnia. Now, when I get depressive, I take St Johns Wort. It's usually enough just to kick it away.

Coops, how much exercise are you getting each day? I've found that even a 30 minute walk outside in the evenings makes me tired enough and burns off enough stress that I can usually go to sleep fairly quickly.
