'Les Expos' in Las Vegas in 2005?

PLUHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE   !!!!!! How can a city who's main employment base are blackjack dealers & showgirls support 81 MLB games per year  ? And how about the gambling issue? Yeah, bust Pete Rose's balls about gambling on baseball, but wouldn't putting a team in Las Vegas be like allowing a rehabing drunk to work at a brewery  ? I'm sure many players who have a betting problem (and are probably betting on baseball, except that they haven't been caught yet) would treat a roadtrip to Vegas like Christmas!!!!

THE BOTTOM LINE: I've said it before and I will say it one more time, obviously MLB/Commish Bud are skeered of putting a team in DC because Peter Angelos is going to bitch, moan, and sue the league. If the sport had a real commissioner, they would realize Washington is the only viable city to be the next home for the Expos and they would've moved there 2 years ago. This issue still wouldn't be in limbo!!!!!!!! However seriously thinks MLB could survive out in the middle of the desert needs a drug test ASAP  !!!!

Las Vegas Expos in 2005? Sureeeeeeeeeee MLB  !!!!!!

San Juan makes 1000 times more sense than DC...DC has nothing on Latin America when it gomes to baseball. Make MLB the Americas favorite pasttime. IMO Expos to San Juan and expand to Mexico City.

San Juan needs a true MLB ballpark to keep the Expos; Also, I don't think there are enough money in Puerto Rico to make it work longterm. DC, maybe Portland (and don't even bother with Norfolk & Vegas   !!!!) are the 2 best options for the Expos.

Charlotte needs a true NFL stadium to get an NFL team. I am sure some rich guy in Puerto Rico is willing. Trust me there is enough $$$ in San Juan especailly with all the revenue brought in by a MLB team. It would be the best thing to happen to the island's economy. I dont see why major league sports have this stigma against expanding to Latin countries. Cnada for some reason is ok but Latin America is a no no. Mexico City, San Juan, eventually Caracas, and eventually Tokyo...MLB needs to exand to be an international league. Its the best out of the big 3 to do so.

Just like cities here in North America, any owner trying to bring a team to Puerto Rico will demand the city build him a stadium. Also just like any city, are there any corporate bigwigs there who will buy the skyboxes/clubseats to make this thing work  ?

if north americans were intensely rabid over one sport then I would agree. but down south they are all about baseball. the city would be willing to help out I am sure. but an owner with vision would see that they would break attendance records...no seat would be empty. as far as who would buy skybox I am sure there are some local companies and then American countries would get some for customers...Puerto Rico is a big tourist area. corporate sponsored vacation would be taken to a new level
