Joel Buschbaum from PFW seems to think Carson Palmer is REALLY improving his draft spot this year. While I like Palmer, I don't think I would put him up there with Leftwich at this point.

I'd say Palmer has more upside, more raw skill. Palmer would require a season or two to develope.
Leftwich is more polished, a guy that could step in and play right away.

My problem with drafting Leftwich is he seems to be hurt. God knows we don't need another injury riddled player. He plays against lesser talent. (even though it doesn't seem to be affecting Chad Pennngton any)

Every player gets hurt. Leftwitch seems to the type that will play through.
Palmer could be this year’s Joey Harrington. I could see that happening.

Sorry but he cant be carried to the next play in the pros. BL had that shinn operated on last off season and it's still giving him problems. I'm not saying I'm against drafting at all. I'll be happy if he comes here.

I personally would NOT be happy with Palmer in the top 10. To me, he isn't worth that lofty a pick. Can't understand how anyone can say Palmer is as good a prospect as Leftwich. I really don't want to disagree - because I like Palmer quite a bit, but Leftwich is so unbelievably accurate and such a complete prospect I find these statements a bit ridiculous.

People say Leftwich isn't mobile. Palmer is less mobile.
People say he hasn't proven himself over the long haul. He has proven more than Palmer.

To me - there isn't 1 advantage that a Palmer would have over a Leftwich. Leftwich is better, period.

Manning vs Leftwich would be more like it, although right now - Leftwich still tops the board. Manning is quite close though with the pedigree, arm, smarts, accuracy and measuables.

the difference between Harrington and Palmer is the attitude and leadership part. Hate to harp on that part but Harrington is, it seems, Detroit's leadership right now and a guy who's worth building a franchise around. Wasn't so much that his measurables were just that wonderful, he was a mid-first round pick otherwise.

Palmer would be worth a second. No way he's worth our first right now. I really don't like that he only had one good year after being so highly touted - a guy who comes in, starts two years and is good for one is acceptable. When you're like a high school all-american and start for three or four years, you need more than one good year.

I don't think Palmer would be getting this much draft hype if Ragone wasn't struggling. he'd be fine if he quit playing with the touch and worried more about accuracy.

If Manning comes out, yeah, he's second QB. At that point it's Manning or waiting for the 2nd rounder, otherwise I'm far more inclined to just push for the 2nd rounder.

That's what sucks about regional coverage. I see nothing on Manning, up here. Sports Center hasn't been on his jock like they were last year and He isn't mentioned with the Heisman hopefuls...granted that is just a jinx anyway.
In BIG 10 Country, we see alot of Pac 10 games due to the annual 10's match-up in the Rose Bowl, well except last year of course.
Hell, if Brad Banks fairs well in the combine, you might see him move into the second round...and that's no BS! Kid has good mechanics, quick feet, good vision, accurate/efficient. He has a lot to offer, just not a long baller.
Come Jan. I'll start getting into detail on some of this. Right now, Palmer seems like the best choice IMO, just because of what I have been able to see. There are quite a few guys out there with good accuracy and brains, just not many big arms...
    SCREW IT, gimme J-LO!!!

Agree Mags...I would personally be happy to pick up a killer WR - Rogers or Williams at the top of round 1 (if we pick 4-7) and look for QB in round 2.

Is it possible for Ragone to get there? I doubt it but it would be possible. I'd still take him there considering he has taken such a pounding this season and has no time to throw. Although his stats have drop badly, he can still be a good NFL QB IMO. Palmer in round 2 would be fine as would Grossman if those where gone.

Kliff Klingsbury would still be worth a look in round 3 IMO as would a long list of others.

That Banks dude from Iowa is begining to look like an Aaron Brooks type so he might work too a little later.
