I'm slow tonight. I guess I didn't think the series was all it was cracked up to be.

I have read them up to the latest. I got started later than most. Book 8 or so was out when I started. I read the first 8 back to back over a period of about 3 months. After that I didn't enjoy them as much because of the wait between books. I agree the later books are not as good as the earlier ones. If anyone hasen't read them and want to I would suggest you wait until the series is finished then read them all at once. Each book has a summary chapter at the beginning that you can skip if you read them back to back.

JB- hang in there. Trib Force is a bit slow, but they pick up after that.

I've read the entire series twice through (only 11 books!! not 137! ha) and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I can't wait for the final book to come out- two weeks from today, actually!

The first two books have been made into movies, which are not that good (especially the 2nd one); they are definitely low-budget. So don't judge the books by the movies.

An interesting little fact about the movies... Bot were marketed in a very grass roots method. They were filmed pressed to VHS and DVD and then sent to theaters simultaneously. You could watch the video at home leave your house and go see the film on opening night. The producers wanted the film to available as a source of witness to any one. Not only those who go to a theater. One of the only movies to get a simultaneous film and video release.

Well see....I was having some fun but that was sorta my point with the 137 books comment. I respect grass roots type of support. A lot. But the moment that "grass roots" becomes "let's cash in"? That's when I say "No thanks". So you'd now have to give me the next 10 books in the series to get me to read them.

I feel somewhat the same about Mel's flick. Part of me thinks he's laughing all the way to the bank.

Plus the movie had Kirk Cameron. I love God and all, but just not enough to watch Kirk try to act.
