I just started Armageddon, the 11th book in the series, yesterday.

The series isn't bad. Working out an exact timeline for the Biblical account of the end of the world isn't exactly easy, but I think Tim LaHaye has done an excellent job. I don't know how precisely accurate it is, but I think it's pretty sound. It's fiction anyway, so there's some leeway there.

I know several agnostics and even atheists who have read the series and have enjoyed it immensely. It's well written, and easy to read. It's lost a bit of momentum since the first few books came out, but it's still a great series to have. It paints a very plausible scenario of Jesus' return.

I was all into the first one until the whole thing blew up into 186 books that you had to read.

:) Didn't feel the need to load up the coffers of some folks milking a good thing. I know they mean well, but they also shoulda warned me they were going to do 197 books BEFORE I get involved in the first one.

I read 1 1/2 books and had to quit. Interesting story, but I swear that is some awful writting. I feel like it's written for 3rd graders.

I liked the first one and i saw the movie too but i'm not really into this second one, that's probably why it's taking me so long to read it. right now, i would rather read factual stuff.

I quit after the 6th or 7th book. I grew tired of the predictability and it seemed like the story was becoming forced.

I liked the theological stuff, though.
