You're assuming LA has the guns to beat Denver.

I sure was. Didn't think Denver would get it done last night, although I thought they would win the series going into it. The way they threw away two games though I figured it was over. Perhaps not though.

The Cavs haven't lost yet, either. I wouldn't be surprised to see them retake home court advantage tonight.

Could it be that Denver and Orlando are just better teams NOW than either LA or Cleveland?

LA has looked shaky all playoffs. but they are tied with the Nuggets, so it's not like the Nuggets are running away with it.

And while the magic currently have home court advantage, if the Cavs win this game, then the Magic still have to win another game at Cleveland and it is not that easy to do. They only lost 3 games there all year (including the playoffs).

the team that wins the trophy isn't necessarily the best team in the league. that's something to keep in mind. orlando isn't better than the cavs in the normal sense, it's just that their particular strengths are cleveland's glaring weaknesses -- guards that can penetrate and athletic big men. head to head, cleveland comes out losing, but against common opponents, cleveland comes out ahead.

to win the championship, you need to be a good team. you need to be playing well. and you need to be healthy. orlando is playing their best basketball right now and they're getting some lucky bounces, too. their 3-point shooting was insane in game 4.

We clearly would have been better off voting in the team championship team.
